Being an introvert, one of the joys of working out of a studio that's in my home is that there is a lot of quiet time. A LOT. Sometimes I go to the grocery store just to interact with the 3-D people. Bless their hearts, they usually have a deer in the headlights look when I'm finally finished yammering at them about fascinating topics such as cheese! and kitty litter!

Note: going to the grocery store actually has a 100% success rate of making me feel good about myself. Guaranteed I will be asked at least three times to please get that can of whatever off the top shelf. Bless the diminutive - they give the tall a purpose.

Anywho, my introverted self has had a workout over the last couple of weeks. It started with a trip to Vegas that was meant to be relaxing. (In my odd little world for some reason Vegas=relaxing). It was NOT relaxing (but it was fun). Which led directly into houseguests. Which bled into the International Quilt Market and all the festivities surrounding that amazing trade event.

I'm thinking about becoming a quilter. Because THAT is what I need to make my life more manageable.

And after quilt market there is immediate set up for the quilt Festival which is a consumer market. Bazillions of people come from all over the world for Festival (and I'm not exaggerating. I've told you a million times to not exaggerate) and all the festivities surrounding THAT event.

And now I'm just four days away from leaving to go set up STITCHES East in Hartford, CT. And I have a bazillion things to do to get ready. Seriously. A bazillion. I have a booth in the market to sell my yarns, hooks, and books (Booth 710! Come see me!) plus I'm teaching classes each day. And (see pattern here?) all the festivities surrounding THAT event. Especially now that I'm an official sponsor of the event.

Thank goodness my sisters (biological not theological) come to help me with the booth. I don't know what I'd do without them!! So if you come visit the booth that is one of my sisters - I'm sure they will be happy to tell you what handful I was as a child. I remember being nothing less than an angel.

I've heard it both ways.

Bottom line, this introvert needs some quiet time. Won't be for a week or three but all this external stimulation swirling around me needs to take a chill pill for a while. Besides, it's not too long until you know what happens, but not until the other you know what happens, I'm a purist that way. I am not going to play any you know what music until after I eat you know what.

If you don't say it out loud it won't happen as fast.

I'm talking about the holidays.

Anywho, so yesterday evening I thought it would help by making a to-do list of what HAS to be done no matter what (as my friend Michele says, a booth at a show is like a wedding, the event is going to happen whether you get your act together and finish everything or not).

Turns out all it did was make me go to the grocery store and look for people that needed help with stuff on the top shelf.

What a joy to read the thoughts and activities of a creative person.
