2014 The Right Way

As 2013 progressed last year I just kept having this nagging feeling that I wasn't doing things the right way. It was too much of a struggle, much more than usual, sort of like I put my canoe in the water and was paddling as hard as I could to go upstream. Sure I was making what looked like some progress but the amount of effort relative to how far I was moving was out of whack!

I'm declaring that 2014 will be the year that I do things the right way.

Perhaps having this precious puppy Tamaya under my stewardship for the last four months has shown me that stepping up, and doing what I know to be right (despite the plethora of advice being directed toward me like a well intentioned tsunami), is how I can feel content at the end of each day.  When she goes to sleep at night happy, secure, and healthy I feel that all is right in the world in that moment.

Now it's time for me to be a good steward to the other facets of my world. I would love to go to bed each night knowing I had been a good brother, entrepreneur, mentor, neighbor, home keeper, puppy-daddy…

So watch out 2014, for there WILL be changes. I will stay true to myself, to my moral code, to my standards this year. You can challenge my strength, my courage, or even my happiness, but you cannot challenge who I am.

I will bring Drew to the table each and every day, and live 2014 the right way.

Dear Drew,

As a friend that only sees you occasionally and always values your openness, I applaud you. Is it proper for me to say how proud I am of you, out of place maybe, but I greatly respect the processes you have worked through to get to this point.

Good going Drew, keep it up!

Stitches West? See you then.

Always, Jo
