Not too long after we got together Gary and I decided to try taking a cruise and see if we’d enjoy that type of vacation. We booked a short one – just seven days – out of Galveston to the Caribbean. We were both so nervous yet excited for the experience. The ship was huge, we had our own balcony, we were headed to new to us countries and cultures!
As we were headed out to sea on the first day I fell asleep on the balcony. All was right in the world. I was with the man I had asked for when I was a kid but thought was impossible to find. I’m so glad he took this photo because it represents so much good that I had in my life at that moment. It was the best nap of my life and I still remember how it felt to be loved in that moment.
